Boomtown or False Front

Most often found on commercial structures in town centers, these wooden buildings look like the buildings of the Old West. The false front is taller than the roof and hides it from view. Popular around the 1900s. They gave newly formed boom towns a sense of permanence and helped settlers acclimate to new surroundings.
